Over time, a carrier will acquire feedback and this will affect their star rating. We're in the process of adding carrier profile information to the site which will allow you to learn more about a particular carrier before agreeing to ship. If a carrier has bid on your proposed shipment, you can contact them using the contact button found in your My Ranch dashboard. It’s always possible that a carrier may not inspire confidence, and you should take a look at other options that better fit your needs.
If you have questions, you are encouraged to reach out to the seller by clicking the Contact button inside the listing. This is a very important aspect of Ranch Builder because it allows a safe first step toward an agreement. The seller is assured that they will have time to consider the buyer before engaging and the buyer is not given the seller's contact information (if the seller has specfiied such in the listing). Obviously the buyer can create an offer right off the bat as well, without an initial contact, which works well if the seller is well known or if the two parties have done business before.
This is the point where you are customizing the site to fit your needs. If you don't own a truck and trailer, and if you don't broker shipments for others, it's probably better if you just operate as a buyer and seller. This will clean up your My Ranch dashboard a little. However, you may choose to help out a friend one day that has a truck and trailer. If you're viewing available loads, you could let them know about something that pops up. If they're not already signed up with Ranch Builder, they could register real quick and bid on the load! Keep in mind that you can only see loads if you're setup as a Carrier in your Profile. Hauling a small load of livestock may generate up to $500 for a day's labor so it's always worth keeping an open mind with this kind of software platform.
It's rare that someone won't be both a Buyer and Seller. In the event that you enjoy buying from someone on Ranch Builder but selling to another offline party or auction location; that may be a case where you choose to operate as a Buyer only. For some, they may choose to operate as a Seller if they only sell home grown breeder stock and they just need an outlet for their product. In any case, we'd recommend operating as all three (Buyer, Seller, and Carrier) until you get a feel for the platform. Then you can choose to change your profile at any time. There is no additional cost to be signed up for multiple profile types.
The best marketplaces allow the seller to enter lots of relevant information. However, we realize that this may seem daunting at first. Rest assured, we have put an enormous amount of research into this particular process. The absolute easiest method of creating a listing is by using your phone. Take the phone out to your product location, make sure the camera settings are set to take reasonably sized photos (not greater than 6MB), and be ready to snap pictures of the items as you create the listing. Of course, the desktop version of the site is extremenly easy to use as well, and you may have all your images stored on your desktop already. If you have any questions at all while you're completing the listing information, call us at 1-888-RANCH95. You can also simply mail your photos to us at email@example.com and we'd be more than happy to create a listing for you and get the photos entered.
You can trade all types of livestock for FREE after signing up (requires a completed User Profile which may be verified for accuracy).
Yes. Ever since the internet became broadly available to ecommerce in the 90's, people have conducted transactions of all sizes. Today, there are several trusted web hosting and security companies who have developed or deployed extremely powerful security technology such as data encryption, data backup, real time monitoring, SSL, and more. Ranch Builder has spent months analyzing and meticulously reviewing the most secure partner platforms for web hosting, SSL certification, escrow transactions, payment processing, server security (malware, viruses, etc.), and more. In most cases, we have selected companies that offer financial warranties and additional protection to offer a better customer experience.
RB has already partnered with a few writers to bring our members informative content! If you're a writer and would like to add content to the News & Info page, please give us a call or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or use our Contact page form. We are always partnering with great content writers and will come up with something that is mutually beneficial for both you and our members. In some cases, the agreement could be as easy as allowing us to link to content you have elsewhere.
Of course. We are always looking to highlight the best items or those that need an extra push to get sales flowing. Feature and banner locations on the home page can be purchased in weekly blocks, call 888-726-2495 or email email@example.com for pricing. Ranch Builder reserves the right to determine marketing strategies for these locations that best suit the community members as a whole and therefore some weeks and home page locations may not be available.
You must enter a valid ZIP CODE as well as a MILES AWAY radius, then hit SEARCH. You can always RESET FILTERS if you want to start over. Note that ZIP CODE and MILES AWAY may override other search filters such as CITY and STATE.
It's possible that you have created a mileage or item type filter (i.e. Cattle, Hay, Open Range) that does not include any currently available shipments. If so, just refresh the page and start over with your filter. It's also possible that no shipments are available and you'll need to check back. We are working on email alerts as well which will make life easier for you in the long run.
Yes. Since these are time sensitive marketing opportunities, give us a call at 888-726-2495 and we'll help get you setup. If you don't have much time, just sign up and create a listing in less than a few minutes. We'll help you out if you need anything. Note that listings must always be accurate so you'll need to keep the quantities up to date. If you enter 100 head of steers available at 10am and your auction is from 12pm to 5pm, you'll need to update your quantities that evening. For auctions, the most ideal use of the site would be for large volume sales and those that have more than a day of marketing opportunity. To ensure a great experience for our buyers, listing quantities can never be zero and must be accurate when buyers call, send a message, or show up at your location. Make use of the Available Date feature in the listing, and Save Drafts that can be deployed when you're ready. Create a link to the listing by copying the URL and you can post it on Facebook or other locations.
Ranch Builder collects certain pieces of information such as phone numbers and email addresses to allow other customers to communicate with you, however our platform can hide this information from being visible. Some users may choose to reveal their contact info openly because they are an established company. If a seller chooses to keep their information hidden, a buyer can inquire about a product or even make an offer, and never know their personal contact information. We will simply pass the message to the seller, in this case, which gives them an opportunity to assess first. Likewise, you can work with a carrier in the same way. Ranch Builder does not provide your information to other parties that are not involved in a particular transaction.
